Farewell to the Lancasters

On Sunday December 10, 2017, we had a morning tea to farewell Shirley and David Lancaster. Shirley and David joined our church community in 1989 following many years in Fiji, and from the very beginning they participated fully in the life of our church. Both Shirley and David at various stages have been members of the Church Council. David was also a member of the Board of the Drop – In, while Shirley used her creative skills there, working with the participants in the art classes. Shirley’s music contribution to worship most Sundays and David’s social justice energy stirring us to be actively involved for those on the margins, will always be valued. They have always been generous with their hospitality and in the last few years this has extended to hosting the annual church weekend ‘camp’ at their Phillip Island home. Words cannot express the value of their contributions and we will miss them immensely. We wish them well as they move permanently to Phillip island.
