River of Justice Prayer

As a deer longs for flowing streams, so our soul longs for you, O God.
Our soul thirsts for your river of justice to flow through our lives.

God, we weep at the changes and damage we see in the world.
We feel powerless. We wonder where to find hope.
We pray for mindful acceptance of the crisis at hand.
Not the acceptance that leads to complacency,
but acceptance that empowers us to respond with clarity, competence, and faithfulness.
Refresh our bodies, minds, and spirits this day that we may drench your world with compassion, love and hope. Let us immerse ourselves in your river of justice.
