Prayer About Diversity

Oh God, creating Spirit.

We gather in your name – people created in your image.

Today, as we have just witnessed, we want to express thankfulness for the astonishing variety that we represent.

We are such a diverse community.

We come from so many backgrounds out of which we have crafted so many futures. We do so many different things. Love different things, places and people.
And like us, faith communities around the world are made up of people of different languages, colours, cultures and customs.

What an amazingly rich world we live in.

We have been so deeply enriched by ever-widening circles of friendships and colleagues. People so different to ourselves who have also been created in your image.
Creating God, show us your presence in those who differ most from us, until our knowledge of your love is made perfect in our love for all your children; through your Son, Jesus.
