More songs have been written about love than any other topic. Some of the most memorable events in history have been woven around incidents involving love; as well as the absence of it. Love in all its diversity both underpins and compels human existence and relationships. So, spending some time looking at love more deeply in the context of our faith story could prove to be quite fruitful. On Sunday 3 June we celebrated love of land and remembered Mabo Day. 10 June we celebrated the 100 th anniversary of the Suffragette movement’s success of securing the vote for women in Britain. On the 17th we will be looking at the relationship between love and compassion. The 24th will find us looking at the hardships of love. This particular time of gathering will be woven around Leonard Cohen’s song Hallelujah.
